Uttar Pradesh Schedule of Rates
About UP PWD
UP's district-level SOR distribution reflects the state's size and regional cost variation. Engineers in NCR-UP (Noida, Ghaziabad), western UP (Meerut, Agra), central UP (Kanpur, Lucknow), eastern UP (Varanasi, Gorakhpur) and Bundelkhand reference different district SORs. The R&QC rate list provides QA materials/test rates separately. UP is also the largest implementer of JJM and PMGSY; rural rates derive from the PWD framework.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are UP SORs district-wise?
UP's geographic size (240,000 km²) and significant regional cost variation (NCR-UP labour and material costs differ markedly from Bundelkhand or eastern UP) make district-wise SORs more accurate than a state-wide average. Each district publishes its own SOR with locally-verified rates.
How do I find my district's SOR?
Navigate to uppwd.gov.in/pages/en-leftmenu/schedule-of-rates. The page indexes per-district links. Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Agra, Meerut, Aligarh and other major districts have separate SORs.
What is R&QC Rate List?
Research & Quality Control Wing — handles material testing, QA inspections, and specifications enforcement. The R&QC rate list covers testing fees, sampling rates, and QA-specific items not in the construction SOR.
Do NOIDA / GNIDA / YEIDA have their own SORs?
These authorities adopt UP PWD SOR (typically Gautam Buddh Nagar or Ghaziabad district) as base rates for civil works. Authority-specific overheads are added for NOIDA's higher-spec urban infrastructure.
Why does the UP PWD site show SSL warnings?
The portal serves an invalid certificate chain that browsers may flag. The site is genuine — just configured with an outdated certificate. Engineers regularly access it; the SSL warning is cosmetic, not a security issue.
