About
Yashobhoomi (officially the India International Convention + Expo Centre, IICC) is India's largest convention + exhibition complex — a 221-acre integrated mega-facility at Dwarka in southwest Delhi. Inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on 17 September 2023, the complex was designed to position Delhi-NCR as a major Asian convention destination competing with Singapore, Bangkok, and Dubai.
The complex covers 8.9 million sqft of constructed floor area across 4 phases: Phase 1 (operational since September 2023) includes the main convention block (7,000-capacity hall + 35 meeting rooms), 2 large exhibition halls, an auditorium, and an attached 800-key Welcome Hotel. Phase 2 (operational by 2025) adds 2 more exhibition halls + 1,200-key hotels. Phase 3 (2027) adds a heritage village + cultural complex. Phase 4 (2030) brings total floor area to 8.9 million sqft.
Tata Projects led the civil construction with L&T sharing major packages. Total Phase 1 cost: ₹5,400 crore. The project was sanctioned in 2017 by the Government of India under DIPAM as a strategic infrastructure intervention to capture a larger share of the global convention industry.
The complex is connected to the Delhi Metro Yellow Line via a dedicated station (Yashobhoomi/IICC Dwarka, opened September 2023). Major events hosted include the 2023 Asia Region BPO Summit, the 2024 ITU World Telecommunication Conference, and 100+ industry exhibitions annually. By design, Yashobhoomi handles up to 25,000 visitors daily across all halls simultaneously.
