⚖ Compliance notes
- BOCW Schedule V mandates basic PPE — helmet, footwear, eye protection — for all construction workers.
- Schedule VI specifies additional PPE for specific activities (welding, height work, etc.).
- BIS-marked PPE preferred (e.g., IS 2925 helmet, IS 4014 harness, IS 1989 footwear).
- PPE service life: helmet 3-5 years, harness 5-7 years (inspect annually), boots 1-2 years.
- PPE replacement is contractor's responsibility — no cost to worker.
- Audit by labour department + BOCW inspector requires this register + physical verification.
