APTRANSCO Civil Schedule of Rates
About Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh — Civil Wing
APTRANSCO operates AP's high-voltage transmission backbone (220kV, 132kV substations and lines) as the dedicated transmission utility. The Civil Wing handles all substation civil construction — control rooms, switchyard pavement, tower foundations, transformer plinths, cable trenches. Civil rates derive from AP R&B SOR (already covered) plus APTRANSCO-specific items for transmission-grade specifications: blast-resistant control room construction, EHV-clearance pavement, fire-rated cable trenches. Major capital projects (new 765kV substations, transmission corridor strengthening) are tendered with project-specific BoQs.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is APTRANSCO different from APCPDCL/APSPDCL?
APTRANSCO is transmission (high-voltage backbone). APCPDCL/APSPDCL are distribution (consumer-side LT/HT). Civil works scope differs — transmission has substations, towers, switchyards; distribution has feeder substations, distribution-line supports.
Does APTRANSCO publish its own SOR?
No standalone SOR booklet. Civil rates derive from AP R&B SOR + APTRANSCO-specific items in tender BoQs. The civil-wing portal indexes circulars and tender corrigenda.
What's a 765kV substation civil project worth?
Typically ₹150-300 crore for the civil scope alone (excluding electrical equipment). APTRANSCO has tendered multiple such packages for AP's growing transmission capacity.
Are the rates similar to PowerGrid?
Comparable in magnitude. PowerGrid is the central transmission body operating across India; APTRANSCO is AP-specific. Both use similar substation civil specifications adapted for the operator's standard.
