IS 1303:2004 is the Indian Standard (BIS) for oil based paints for general purposes. IS 1303 covers general purpose oil-based paints for protective and decorative coating of metal, wood, and masonry. Being replaced by alkyd enamels (IS 2932) and water-based paints for most applications, but still specified in government PWD works.
