Summary

ISO 19650-2:2018 governs how BIM information is procured, produced, and delivered during the project delivery phase. It defines the 8 activities of the information delivery cycle from assessment & need through to project close-out, plus the structure of the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and tender requirements.

Specifies requirements for information management during the delivery (design and construction) phase of an asset using BIM. Defines the activities and deliverables expected of each party.

BEP versionsPre-appointment + Post-appointment
Key deliverablesBEP, Master Information Delivery Plan (MIDP), Task Information Delivery Plan (TIDP)
Practical Notes
! Pre-appointment BEP is part of your tender response — short, demonstrates capability
! Post-appointment BEP is the contract document — detailed, signed by all parties
! MIDP aggregates all TIDPs across appointed parties — owned by the lead appointed party
! Information delivery happens in iterative cycles tied to project gateways, not as a single end-of-project handover

What is a BEP?+
BIM Execution Plan — the document that says how information will be managed on a specific project. Pre-appointment BEP is submitted with tender; post-appointment BEP is the contractual reference document signed after award.
What is the difference between MIDP and TIDP?+
TIDP (Task Information Delivery Plan) is the schedule of information deliverables for ONE appointed party on ONE task. MIDP (Master Information Delivery Plan) aggregates ALL TIDPs into the master schedule for the project — owned by the lead appointed party.
