IS 9668:2019 is the Indian Standard (BIS) for provisions for safety of workers — code of practice. IS 9668 is the primary construction safety code in India — covers all aspects of worker safety on construction sites. Referenced in most construction contracts and by building regulations. Is safety helmet mandatory on all construction sites?+
Yes. IS 9668 requires hard hats for all persons on construction sites at all times. Also mandatory: safety shoes, high-visibility vest (near traffic), and safety harness above 2m height.
