IS 16738:2018 is the Indian Standard (BIS) for work permits - code of practice for safety in construction. This code establishes a standardized Permit-To-Work (PTW) system for managing safety in construction. It provides a framework defining procedures, roles, and responsibilities for controlling high-risk activities to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
Lays down a system of work permits to ensure safety during specific high-risk construction activities.
BIM-relevant code. See the BIM Hub for ISO 19650, IFC, and LOD/LOIN frameworks used alongside it.
