This standard prescribes the requirements for materials, dimensions, construction, and performance testing of universal branch pipes used for firefighting. Universal branch pipes allow firefighters to switch seamlessly between delivering a solid water jet, creating an umbrella spray (water curtain) for heat protection, or completely shutting off the flow.

Branch Pipe, Universal For Fire fighting Purpose- Specification

Quick Reference Values
hydraulic test pressure2.1 MPa (21 kgf/cm²)
test duration2.5 minutes
standard inlet connection63 mm male instantaneous coupling
Practical Notes
Ensure regular lubrication of the moving control ring to guarantee smooth transitions between jet, spray, and shut-off modes during emergencies.
For marine, coastal, or highly corrosive industrial environments, heavily prefer gunmetal or stainless steel branch pipes over aluminum alloy.
Always inspect the internal rubber washers and instantaneous coupling catch-springs to prevent leaks or detachment under high water pressure.
