Why this matters

When a unit has multiple bedrooms, NBC allows the secondary rooms to be smaller (7.5 m² vs 9.5 m²) on the assumption that occupants share other spaces (living, dining). The 2.1 m width prevents corridors-disguised-as-bedrooms.

Typical practice

Children's bedrooms in compact 2/3BHK units often hit the 7.5 m² floor. Premium housing typically provides 10–12 m² for secondary bedrooms.
