Why this matters

0.90 m is the minimum width through which a standard wheelchair (700 mm) can pass with hand clearance. Below this, users can't fit through without scraping.

Typical practice

All accessible-route doors and accessible bathroom doors must meet 0.9 m clear opening — note this is the CLEAR opening, not the door size, so the actual door leaf may need to be 0.95-1.0 m to account for stops and offsets.
