IS 730:2018 is the Indian Standard (BIS) for copper wire for general engineering purposes. IS 730 covers electrolytic copper wire for electrical and general engineering use. Minimum 100% IACS conductivity for annealed wire. This is the base conductor material used in cables (IS 694), motor windings, and electrical connections.
