Practical Notes
! Specify non-rising stem (NRS) for buried installations and rising stem (RS) where visual position indication is needed.
! PN16 is recommended for pumped mains and zones with surge pressure. PN10 for gravity distribution.
! Rubber-seated (resilient seat) valves are preferred over metal-seated for drip-tight shutoff.
! Annual valve exercising (open-close cycle) is essential — seized valves are useless in emergencies.
