IS 2046:2019 is the Indian Standard (BIS) for spindle type gate valves for water works. IS 2046 covers sluice/gate valves for water supply — the most common isolation valve in water distribution systems. Available in 50mm to 600mm sizes, PN10 and PN16 pressure ratings. Ductile iron body with brass stem and rubber-faced wedge is the standard configuration.

What is the difference between sluice valve and gate valve?+
Same thing. 'Sluice valve' is the Indian/British term. 'Gate valve' is the international term. Both refer to IS 2046 type valves with a flat/wedge gate that slides across the flow.
PN10 or PN16 — which to specify?+
PN16 for: pump discharge lines, high-rise buildings, areas with water hammer risk. PN10 for: gravity-fed distribution, low-rise areas, normal working pressure <6 bar.
