IS 10146:2020 is the Indian Standard (BIS) for polyethylene pipes for water supply. IS 10146 covers PE pipes for water supply — the most widely used plastic pipe material in India for water distribution. PE100 grade PN10 (10 bar) is the standard for municipal water supply. Pipes range from 20mm to 630mm diameter.

PE100 means the polyethylene has a Minimum Required Strength (MRS) of 10 MPa at 20°C for 50 years. It is the highest standard PE grade for pressure pipe applications.
What pressure rating should I specify for water supply?+
PN10 for most municipal water distribution (10 bar max). PN16 for pumped mains or high-pressure zones. PN6 for gravity-fed rural supply.
