- Rates sourced from MJP SSR 2023-24 (with 2024-25 escalation column). 5 corrigenda dated up to 20-Dec-2024 exist (mjp.maharashtra.gov.in publications page) but are scanned-image PDFs in Marathi requiring manual review for tender-grade use. For cost feasibility this Builder is good as-is; for tender submission, cross-check each item against the latest corrigendum.
- HDPE PE-100 PN-6 (rated 6 bar / 60 m head) is the JJM standard for village distribution networks. PN-10 for trunk mains where pressure exceeds 60 m head (uncommon at distribution end of network).
- Pipe sizing rule-of-thumb: 110 mm OD trunk from OHSR for first 100-200 households, 90 mm sub-mains for branches serving 30-100 HH, 63 mm laterals for street-level pipes serving 5-30 HH per branch.
- Cover depth 0.9 m is the CPHEEO + IS 4984 standard for distribution networks. Reduce to 0.6 m for utility-corridor protected sections; bump to 1.2 m under cultivated land + road crossings.
- House Service Connection (HSC) is a per-household line — ferrule on the lateral, 15-25 mm MDPE service line to plot boundary, water meter chamber, connection to internal plumbing. Rate is per HSC complete.
- Public stand-post taps were the JJM Phase-1 standard for community access; Phase-2 mandates individual HSC for every house. Public taps are still relevant for villages without internal plumbing infrastructure.
- Fittings set = couplings + tees + reducers + end-caps. Estimated 1 set per 100 m of pipe. For tightly-meshed networks (urban + dense settlements), bump to 1 per 50 m.
- PHED rates per state for HDPE PE-100: 63 mm: ₹70-110/m; 90 mm: ₹140-200/m; 110 mm: ₹200-300/m; rates include butt-welding + jointing. Verify locally.
- Excludes: water meter at HSC (typically multi-jet brass, ₹500-1,500 each); zone-level master meters; SCADA / IoT telemetry (modern JJM-2 includes this — ₹5-10k per village); leak-detection devices; meter-reading software; flushing chambers at network ends; chlorine residual sensors.
The **HDPE distribution network** is the last-mile water-supply infrastructure that takes treated water from the OHSR to individual households via trunk mains + sub-mains + laterals + house service connections. Per **IS 4984 + IS 15164 + CPHEEO Manual** standard configuration: PE-100 PN-6 HDPE pipes (110 mm trunk + 90 mm sub-main + 63 mm lateral) buried 0.9 m deep with sand bedding, ferrule-connected HSC at every house, sluice valves at branch isolations, air valves at high points. This is the BIGGEST line item in JJM Village Water Supply — typically 35-50% of total village WSS cost. This Builder generates the complete cost per village — civil from CPWD DSR + HDPE pipe + fittings + valves + HSC from state PHED placeholder rates.
JJM (Jal Jeevan Mission) distribution network design rules
JJM Phase-2 mandates **Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC)** — every house gets its own metered service connection. Designed for **55 lpcd minimum** (CPHEEO recommends 70 lpcd urban / 135 lpcd urban-municipal). Network is **looped** (not branch / tree) to ensure no dead-ends + better residual chlorine distribution. **Maximum service-area radius** from OHSR is 400-500 m for gravity flow at acceptable tail-end pressure (10 m residual head). **Pipe slope** is laid to follow ground profile with air valves at high points + scour valves at low points. **Material mandate**: HDPE PE-100 PN-6 for all sizes < 200 mm; DI K9 for ≥ 200 mm trunk mains.
House Service Connection (HSC) — what's included
Each HSC quote per JJM includes: (a) ferrule + saddle clamp on the lateral pipe; (b) 15-25 mm MDPE service line from lateral to plot boundary (typically 5-15 m); (c) water meter chamber with brick walls + CI / RCC cover; (d) multi-jet brass water meter (Class B + IS 779); (e) consumer side stop-tap + connection to internal plumbing; (f) all earthwork + reinstatement of road / footpath surface. Rate per HSC is typically ₹2,500 - 5,000 depending on state PHED + meter size. JJM provides full per-HSC funding under the FHTC scheme.
