IS 2633:2002 is the Indian Standard (BIS) for methods for testing electroplated coatings. IS 2633 provides test methods for evaluating electroplated coatings — thickness, adhesion, porosity, and corrosion resistance. Referenced by IS 1068 (Ni-Cr plating) and IS 1573 (zinc plating) for acceptance testing.
Methods for testing thickness, adhesion, porosity, and corrosion resistance of electroplated coatings on metallic substrates.

Magnetic gauge for routine QC (quick, non-destructive). Microscopic cross-section for referee testing (accurate but destructive). Coulometric (chemical dissolution) for multi-layer coatings (measures each layer separately).
